I am a professional Henna Artist with 20 years of experience. I was born in India, and as a teenage girl I developed my passion for Henna. I started doing it as a hobby and I brought this art to here in 1999. Henna is also known as Mehendi and very popular as body art or as temporary tattoos in the western world. Here I do henna for weddings, Henna Nights, Hens Nights, Corporate functions, Fetes, Fairs & other special occasions.
My specialistion is Bridal Henna (Bridal Mehendi). I can create Traditional Indian, Arabic, Rajasthan and Marwadi patterns or designs. I can also copy and apply any given pattern or design. Some of my work is displayed in my photo gallery.
Henna (Mehendi) is a skin art that is used to decorate body, and has been around for about 5000 years, originating in the Middle East, and spread to India and other parts of the world. It is totally safe, natural and painless to use. The henna applied to your skin by Savita is 100% natural and contains no chemicals.
Henna paste is made from ground leaves of a shrub called Lawsonia Inermis; it grows in hot tropical climates like India, Pakistan, North Africa, Middle East and other Asian Countries. Henna powder is made by drying and grinding the leaves and stems. The greenish powder, when mixed with water, makes a dark paste which is applied to skin with a small cone. The strong pigment in the Henna (Mehendi), actually temporarily stains the skin. When the paste dries and crumbles off, it will leave behind an auburn, orange, red, or brown stain. The longer you leave it on, the darker the colour will be. Henna (Mehendi) lasts up to 2-3 weeks.
With a lot of coordination and care, I can apply intricate designs full of scrolls, swirls, paisley outlines, and dots. Henna tattoos can create temporary bracelets, motifs, emblems, or words.
Traditionally, Henna was used by Asian brides to symbolize love, happiness and prosperity for the couple. Many of the patterns applied in bridal Henna symbolise love, for many brides the application of bridal Henna is when they begin to feel the wedding vibes. Henna nights are now becoming a popular event for celebrating the night before the wedding.
Now Henna (temporary tattoos) is not only used for weddings and religious occasions but also for trendy temporary body art anywhere on body, like naval, wrists, palms, back, shoulders and ankles for parties, events & fairs, corporate functions and hens nights. |
